Oppo’s new phone is the first with three 200-megapixel cameras

The Find X10 Pro Max also delivers 17 stops of dynamic range.

Oppo’s new Find X10 Pro Max flagship phone, launched today in China, is the first anywhere to use 200-megapixel sensors on all three of its rear cameras. A 17-stop dynamic range for the main camera, delivered thanks to what Oppo calls “DeepPix sensor technology,” suggests megapixel count won’t be the only thing this camera has going for it — a good thing, since raw resolution hasn’t been the main driver of smartphone image quality for some time.

The triple rear camera is built into a square, raised camera island, with a separate bar to one side holding the flash and an additional sensor. An orange accent line nods to Oppo’s ongoing camera partnership with Hasselblad. The regular Find X10 (there’s no sign of a simple Pro, oddly enough) has a similar design but without that extra lens element, and drops to a 50-megapixel ultrawide shooter.

The Pro Max is powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro , with the 9600M in the base Find X10. Both phones have big 8,000mAh batteries, IP69 ratings, and customizable photography color profiles and film looks.

Oppo’s Find X10 launch comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s X500 series launch from Vivo (with the same 17-stop dynamic range), while tomorrow sees Xiaomi reveal its 18 Pro flagships, as China’s biggest Android manufacturers get their flagships out in time for holiday sales seasons. Oppo has already confirmed that the Find X10 Pro Max will eventually get an international launch too.
